Ag-Cu Nanoparticles as Cathodic Catalysts for an Anion Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell

In this work, the synthesis of bimetallic Ag and Cu particles on carbon vulcan (AgCu/C) is reported, synthesized by a simple galvanic displacement method using citrate tribasic hydrate as co-reducing agent commercial material based Cu/C template. The materials were characterized several physicochemical techniques, including TGA, ICP-OES, XRD, SEM, BET. catalysts evaluated cathodic for oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) used preparation membrane electrode assemblies evaluation in an Anion Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell (AEMFC). results compared with Ag/C catalysts; catalyst obtained higher power density, which was attributed to synergistic effect between particles.
